How our numbers are produced
Most tools in this category will not tell you where a figure came from. This page does, including the parts that are less flattering.
Sales counts come from Daraz, not from us
Daraz keeps a paid-order quantity for each listing and serves it publicly. We read that number and show it unchanged — we do not model it, smooth it, or infer it from review counts. For roughly a quarter of listings Daraz reports nothing at all. Those read “No data”, never 0. A product nobody has measured and a product that sold nothing are different facts, and a tool that shows them identically is worse than one that shows neither.
Daily sales are measured, not looked up
Daraz publishes a running lifetime total and two rolling windows. It publishes no per-day figure, and none can be derived from a rolling window — subtracting yesterday’s seven-day count from today’s gives you the difference between today and eight days ago, not today’s sales.
So we record the lifetime counter once a day and subtract. That is the same arithmetic a seller does by hand in a spreadsheet, and it means a product saved today has its first daily figure tomorrow. History cannot be backfilled. If we miss a day, the chart shows a gap rather than a zero.
Revenue is derived, and we say so
Sales are real. Revenue is sales multiplied by today’s price, which ignores discounts that ran last week and vouchers we cannot see. It is a useful scale, not a bank statement. We will not describe it as accurate, and we would be suspicious of any tool that does.
What we do not collect
We read only public product data: titles, prices, ratings, review counts, listing age and the sales figures Daraz reports. We never read, store or transmit buyer names, addresses, phone numbers, order details or reviewer identities.
That is a deliberate limit. Scraping buyer details is both a criminal exposure under PECA 2016 and grounds for removal from the Chrome Web Store, and no feature is worth handing our users either.
What could break
Daraz’s public endpoints are undocumented and change without notice. When one does, figures stop rather than quietly going wrong, and the app says which ones are missing. We would rather show you a gap than a confident number we no longer trust.
